Dr. James W. Liddy
Dr. James W. Liddy, Executive Director: As Executive Director, Educational and Grant Programs Development, Dr. Liddy is responsible for overseeing DSI operations, and for developing and managing DSI educational and grant programs. Dr. Liddy has over 35 years of experience in the automotive and oil industries. He has held several leadership positions in the implementation of quality, reliability, and statistical disciplines for numerous product-development projects and manufacturing processes. Jim is currently Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness Department at Spring Arbor University. His teaching experience includes over 20 years at the University of Michigan and Spring Arbor University, in the areas of statistics, reliability, quality, and organizational development. Dr. Liddy is the author of Statistics – The Estimation Frontier.
Dr. Robert E. McTyre
Dr. Robert E. McTyre, Sr., Secretary: Dr. McTyre is Director and Assistant Professor of Writing, School of Graduate and Professional Studies, Spring Arbor University. He has been teaching adult learners in English, business writing, grant writing, and organizational management at the graduate and undergraduate levels, for more than 15 years. In addition, he has an amazingly diverse career history as an emergency medical technician, restaurateur, professional writer, newspaper executive, and chief assistant to a representative in the Michigan Legislature. He is owner of editinguru.com, a professional editing and writing service. Dr. McTyre and his wife, Carmela, have four grown children and reside in the metropolitan Detroit area. They are members of Abundant Life Christian Center in Redford, Michigan.
Dr. Armand R. Ash
Dr. Armand R. Ash, Treasurer: Dr. Ash is Lead professor of Systems Engineering and Associate Professor of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Detroit Mercy. He is also President/CEO of Mechetronics, Inc., a director with the INCOSE Michigan Chapter, and an active member of several SAE standard and steering committees.
Melva L. Parks
Melva L. Parks, Director-at-Large: Mrs. Parks has over 30 years experience in the healthcare industry. Melva is a registered nurse, licensed nursing-home administrator (N.H.A), and has Bachelor and Masters of Science Degrees in Health Care Administration from the University if Detroit.She has served as clinical director, director of psychiatry, director of nursing services, and director of quality services. She has held several executive director and administrative positions in which she has successfully lead healthcare facilities through regulatory, organizational cultural, quality, and business system development and improvement efforts.
Dr. Tom G. Javarinas
Dr. Tom G. Javarinas, Director-at-Large: Dr. Javarinis is VP of Human Capital Development at Metro Management, U.S.A. He holds a Ph.D from Capella University in Applied Management and Decision and Decision Sciences, and MBA from Davenport University in Accounting (Forensics & Fraud), and a BBA from the Detroit College of Business Administration. Tom has held a variety of business and organizational behavior teaching positions at Walsh College, Central Michigan University, Spring Arbor University, Benedictine University, and Lewis University, and is a member of ABD, AEF, AHEPA, AM, AMA, AOCCC, ASTD, ASTD, SHRM, SOBIE, SWAM, and SWFAD. He has served on the editorial review boards of the International Journal of Applied Management & Technology, the Journal of Organizational Culture and Conflict, and the Journal of Social, Behavioral, and Health Sciences.
